Prepare OpenStudio 0.1.06 by promoting the reviewed free-FX, NAM Rack and recording changes from develop to main. Buffer choices now remain selected until Apply/OK, and ruler zoom no longer competes with recording follow-scroll. The release also improves the plugin editors and processing, with the remaining live-audio limits recorded explicitly.

Changes

  • Refine the free effects and instrument editors for compact through 4K windows: keep primary controls accessible, use wider views for related controls and analysis, and add Find-to-control navigation, exact entry, keyboard adjustment and complete-state Compare/Undo.
  • Extend NAM Rack's Octaver Fuzz with independent Octave/Fuzz switches, Guitar/Bass profiles and original fuzz voices. Integrate Clean as a pedal knob with a recessed percentage display. Reduce excessive moderate-setting gain and correct numerical instability in downstream Distortion and the shared high-pass filter at high oversampling. Existing state compatibility is retained; this is not a commercial-pedal emulation claim.
  • Run eligible independent native-NAM audio tracks across persistent workers sized to available physical cores. Preserve serial processing for unsupported hosted-plugin, MIDI/ARA and routed paths, without adding device buffering. Cache unchanged processing configuration and bound Octaver, Shimmer and pitch-related work.
  • Improve Reverb damping, Hold headroom, engine retirement and Shimmer scheduling. Measure responses with an isolated wet-only processor after pending parameter writes finish, so graphs reflect the displayed settings.
  • Preserve pending Audio Settings selections and report the actual driver-accepted buffer. Separate driver interruptions, callback deadline misses and skipped track work; explain NAM output peak protection in plain language.
  • Bound and serialize recording-waveform previews. Protect ruler zoom from the initial press through release/cancellation; preserve horizontal project/loop-range gestures and explicit edit-selection mappings. Add consistent selected-group clip/track copying, Piano Roll axis-constrained drags and profile-aware transport shortcuts with Undo support.
  • Harden atomic preset saves, full-mode Pitch preset/Compare recall, compact TONE3000 loading feedback, conversion deadline protection, 64-bit ARA readers and Linux package/updater handling.
  • Add read-only Store diagnosis and guarded recovery of an exact existing submission, preserve listing settings across read-only API metadata changes, and exclude recovery tags from ordinary app publication.
  • Consolidate workflows, research and retained qualification in the existing manuals, plugin guides, testing guide and roadmap. Include reviewed 0.1.06 candidate notes; local plans and generated QA evidence are excluded.

Validation

  • PR head e8477aa3 has the same source tree as 543aaade, which passed all 11 Verify jobs and all three native updater-helper jobs. Coverage includes Windows, Linux, both Mac architectures, native processing/state/safety, packaged browser lifecycles, editor geometry and input regressions.
  • The preceding input matrix passed 2,989 unit tests and 248 browser tests per platform; native-schema editor cases are qualified separately. Linux system WebKitGTK passed 44 checks.
  • This promotion's Verify run is still running at this review. Its updater-helper run passed. These live run results must be checked before merge.
  • python tools/validate-release-notes.py --version 0.1.06 passes. Source-level passes do not qualify the final signed/packaged artifacts or subjective audio quality.

Remaining release gates

  • The required four monitored/recording NAM tracks at 16 samples and 4× oversampling still fail deadline qualification. Eight samples is also unqualified. Retained short Release probes recorded 18 callback misses at 48 kHz and 35 at 44.1 kHz. Isolate scheduling/wakeup versus DSP cost and pass sustained physical-interface testing before claiming this target.
  • Complete exact-artifact listening for Fuzz alone and stacked with Octave/Drive/Distortion, changed free effects and existing presets; qualify physical audio/MIDI, sustained recording and device recovery.
  • Complete final Windows RC installer normal/safe startup, upgrade and Repair acceptance, including the affected Windows 10 case in #7. Qualify the final macOS packages; retain the distinction between Ubuntu package tests and the original AppImage report in #23.
  • Finalize the notes' candidate branch wording/comparison against the release commit, then rerun validation. Record the final signing/unsigned policy and package hashes.
  • Store automation is already enabled. The successful 0.1.05 recovery proves accepted ingestion, not current certification/publication. Confirm the current Partner Center baseline, saved publishing mode and absence of an unrelated pending submission before tagging; synchronize the older Store status documentation with that evidence.
  • Merge the companion website promotion before the desktop release dispatch. After the normal v0.1.06 release, verify installers, Store certification/delivery, checksums, download redirects and updater feeds against the published artifacts.

Existing AmpliTube cold-export parity, Nekobi restoration and Punch/AutoJoin limitations remain documented; this PR does not claim they are resolved.
