The new app provides the APIs for QOwnNotes Desktop and Android, plus a web interface for editing notes with subfolders and tags. Read the migration guide for installation and client compatibility requirements before removing QOwnNotesAPI.
QOwnNotes for Nextcloud does not support ownCloud; ownCloud users cannot migrate to it.

QOwnNotesAPI is the Nextcloud / ownCloud API App for QOwnNotes, the open source notepad for Linux, macOS, Windows and Android, that works together with the notes application of Nextcloud/ownCloud.
The only purpose of this App is to provide API access to your Nextcloud / ownCloud server for the QOwnNotes desktop app and the QOwnNotes Android app. You cannot use this Nextcloud / ownCloud App for anything else if you don't use one of these QOwnNotes apps!
You may only want this if you don't want to use the Nextcloud / ownCloud store!
Clone the app into your Nextcloud / ownCloud apps directory:
git clone https://github.com/pbek/qownnotesapi.git apps/qownnotesapi -b mainActivate the app:
occ app:enable qownnotesapi
