Summary

Documents the new self-serve bring-your-own-key (BYOK) settings that let Enterprise deployments run Mintlify AI products on their own LLM provider and API key.

Changes

  • Added a "Bring your own model" section to the assistant configuration page covering the Enterprise requirement, supported providers (Anthropic, OpenRouter, OpenAI-compatible), base URL requirements, model selection, and API key handling (secure storage, reuse, rotation, and removal).
  • Mirrored the new section in the Spanish, French, and Chinese translations.

Context

Enterprise customers can now configure the LLM that powers Mintlify AI products from the dashboard under Settings → API keys. The new AI model section supports Anthropic, OpenRouter, and OpenAI-compatible providers with a curated model list per provider. API keys are stored securely, never shown after saving, and must be re-entered when provider settings change.

Note

Low Risk
Documentation-only updates with no application or security logic changes.

Overview
Adds Bring your own model documentation to the assistant configuration guide so Enterprise customers can learn how to point Mintlify AI (including the assistant) at their own LLM provider and API key via Settings → API keys.

The new section covers the Enterprise plan requirement, dashboard steps (toggle, provider choice, model selection, save), supported providers (Anthropic, OpenRouter, OpenAI-compatible with HTTPS base URL), and how keys are stored, reused when switching models, re-entered when the provider or base URL changes, rotated, and cleared when the feature is turned off. Frontmatter keywords now include BYOK-related terms.

The same section and keywords are added to the Spanish, French, and Chinese assistant/configure pages (localized locales use anchor bring-your-own-model where applicable).
