Henry Kaufman

Senior Design Engineer in Boston. I design product and ship the code behind it.

Now

  • Aspect: Aspect's first design hire. Right now I'm porting Facet into WEM, Aspect's 20-year-old flagship on Less, jQuery, and Knockout.js: foundation-first, a Figma-to-Less token pipeline, and no UX changes so existing users keep their muscle memory. Targeting a Q4 2026 release. Before that I designed and shipped Facet, the design system behind WFX, including a semantic token layer that lets a rebrand ship without touching product code.
  • CoStudy: co-founded in 2019. A peer-evaluation platform for higher ed, used by thousands of students across a dozen universities. I own design, engineering, and the business calls. Case study.

Open source

  • thingsctl: full-featured CLI and MCP server for Things 3 on macOS. Built for humans and AI agents.
  • figma-token-export: Figma plugin that exports variables, text styles, and shadows to a single JSON file, with aliases and multi-mode values preserved. It powers Facet's token pipeline.
  • PromptBar: macOS menu bar app for managing prompt templates. SwiftUI + Core Data.
  • resonant: resonant breathing timer with gentle chimes.
