• zdevice/zsys/zshell: low-severity batch (device lifecycle, log init, shell editing, filtered LOG args, watchdog, Kconfig, missing APIs)

• zkernel: low-severity batch (give latency vs timeout, k_event zero mask, SYS_INIT, fatal.h)

• ci: drivers, shell builtins, watchdog, deferred log and examples never compiled; no 100 Hz run

• test: on macOS a failing assertion wedges the host suite (Unity longjmp vs the POSIX port)

  bug
intercreate/boreas#91 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• zdevice: positive esp_err_t returns under Zephyr API names defeat ret < 0 checks

• zshell: shell_init shares one static stack across instances and re-registers root commands

  bug
intercreate/boreas#89 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• zshell: SHELL_CMD / SHELL_STATIC_SUBCMD_SET_CREATE shape incompatible with upstream

intercreate/boreas#88 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• zsys/log: LOG_MODULE_DECLARE fails to link and rejects the upstream 2-arg form

• gpio: GPIO_OPEN_DRAIN silently configured push-pull; flag bit values diverge from upstream

• gpio: ISR callback walk is not removal-safe and unsynchronized on SMP

  bug
intercreate/boreas#85 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• uart async: contract deltas vs upstream (BUF_REQUEST timing, unreleased next buffer, errno and struct shape)

  zephyr-parity
intercreate/boreas#84 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• uart irq: callback can run concurrently with itself; RX callback not re-fired for pending data

  bug
intercreate/boreas#83 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• uart: RS-485 software DE ignores runtime uart_configure(); RTS/CTS configured with threshold 0

  bug
intercreate/boreas#82 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• k_thread API shape: k_tid_t, static in K_THREAD_STACK_DEFINE, missing k_thread_start/K_THREAD_DEFINE; inverted priorities and core-0 pinning undocumented

  breakingzephyr-parity
intercreate/boreas#81 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• k_thread: join deadline is not wraparound-safe; create reads uninitialized thread->name

  bug
intercreate/boreas#80 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• k_work: reschedule unsubmits queued items; flush returns early and returns int; delayable_remaining_get returns ms

intercreate/boreas#79 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• k_mutex: K_MUTEX_DEFINE aborts on use; unlocking an unlocked mutex returns -EPERM (follow-up to #55)

• k_msgq: move to the owned-state design (purge doesn't abort blocked senders; K_MSGQ_DEFINE aborts on use)

  bugzephyr-parity

• k_timer: K_TIMER_DEFINE never fires; k_timer_init leaks an esp_timer per call

• uart async: rx/tx state shared between API callers and the event/tx tasks without locking

  bugdesign
intercreate/boreas#75 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• uart async RX: timeout 0 disables the RX idle IRQ (short frames never delivered); dispatch lags on stale bytes

  bug
intercreate/boreas#74 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• k_work: same item can be appended to two queues on SMP; async cancel doesn't fence an in-flight expiry

• k_thread: deferred start (K_FOREVER + resume, finite delay) loses its wakeup

  bug
intercreate/boreas#72 · Filter by author swoisz opened on Oct 29, 2026

• time_units: negative timeouts become K_FOREVER; k_timeout_to_ticks rounds down and overflows TickType_t
