@actions/github was updated to use ESM but is still using CJS @actions/http-client 3.x. Given @actions/core is typically installed alongside which does support @actions/http-client 4.x, this meant most actions were unnecessarily bundling two versions of @actions/http-client.

Pull request overview

This PR updates @actions/github to use @actions/http-client 4.x (ESM version) instead of 3.x (CommonJS version). This change resolves a dual bundling issue where actions were unnecessarily including two versions of @actions/http-client - version 3.x from @actions/github and version 4.x from @actions/core, which are commonly installed together.

Changes:

  • Updated dependency from @actions/http-client ^3.0.2 to ^4.0.0 in package.json
  • Updated package-lock.json with the new version metadata and integrity hash
