I’m a rabbit with a database to explore,
Tags and embeddings hop from door to door.
The welcome path now guides each step,
While exercise matches earn a carrot kept.
I bounce to results, pleased and bright,
Then nibble recommendations tonight.

Inline comments:
In @.gitignore:
- Line 349: The ignore rule only covers lib/generated/, so generated files
emitted by build.yaml under feature-specific generated folders are still
tracked. Update the .gitignore entry to cover the actual generated output
patterns produced by build.yaml, including the onboarding model generated
.freezed.dart and matching .g.dart artifacts, so all generated files are ignored
consistently.

In `@lib/core/database/schema/user_schema.dart`:
- Around line 13-20: The user list-backed columns in the schema are currently
nullable, which allows partially populated rows to crash during
`UserData.fromMap()` hydration when `goalTags`, `healthIssueTags`,
`targetBodyRegion`, or `equipments` are cast and split. Update the `UserTable`
column definitions in `user_schema.dart` to make these fields non-null with safe
default values, keeping the schema aligned with the parsing logic in
`UserData.fromMap()` so those properties are always present.

In `@lib/core/model/exercise_data.dart`:
- Line 117: `fromJson()` in the exercise data model is hardcoding
`estimatedTime` to 30, so every saved exercise loses its original timing
metadata. Update the `ExerciseData.fromJson` parsing to read `estimatedTime`
from the incoming payload (with an appropriate fallback only if the field is
missing), and keep the persisted value aligned with the source JSON before
writing to SQLite.
- Around line 189-226: _update the parsing helpers in exercise_data.dart so
`_parseBodyRegions()` and `_parseEquipments()` no longer coerce unknown tokens
to fallback values; instead, explicitly handle only the known enum strings and
throw on anything unexpected so bad asset metadata fails fast. Also add the
missing `pull_up_bar` mapping in `_parseEquipments()` alongside the existing
`bench`, `dumbbells`, `yoga_mat`, and `jump_rope` cases, and keep the logic
localized to these two parser methods so the source of invalid values is easy to
find.

In `@lib/core/model/user_data.dart`:
- Around line 52-62: The empty-selection handling in the UserData
serialization/deserialization flow is producing phantom [''] entries because
list fields like goalTags, healthIssueTags, targetBodyRegion, and equipments are
split from empty strings without filtering. Update the UserData mapping logic
that writes these fields and, more importantly, the corresponding load/parse
path for the same fields so empty stored strings become empty lists instead of a
single empty item. Ensure the conversion used for goalTags, healthIssueTags,
targetBodyRegion, and equipments consistently strips empty values on round-trip.

In `@lib/core/service/seed_service.dart`:
- Around line 44-47: The seedExercises() catch block is swallowing asset/SQLite
failures by only logging and then allowing success to continue. Update the error
handling in seedExercises() to either rethrow the caught exception or return an
explicit failure result that the caller can inspect, and make sure the
splash/navigation flow uses that outcome to stop and show an error state instead
of proceeding with missing exercise data.

In `@lib/core/widgets/feature_chip.dart`:
- Around line 20-40: The selectable chip in FeatureChip uses GestureDetector,
which lacks button semantics, focus handling, and keyboard activation. Update
the FeatureChip widget to use a material interaction control such as InkWell
with proper Semantics, or replace it with an appropriate built-in chip/button
widget, while preserving the current tap behavior and selected styling used by
GoalScreen.

In `@lib/core/widgets/loading_screen.dart`:
- Around line 100-103: The catch block in the loading screen is routing failures
to the result screen even after a critical pipeline crash. Update the error
handling in the loading flow so the failure path does not call
context.go(AppRoutes.result); instead, keep the user on an error/retry state or
other failure UI and use the existing mounted check in the loading screen widget
to gate any follow-up navigation.
- Around line 45-60: The logging in LoadingScreen is printing raw user-entered
onboarding text for custom goals and health issues, which should not appear in
application logs. Update the print calls in the onboarding embedding flow to
only emit phase markers or redacted placeholders, and if detailed values are
needed keep them behind a debug-only logger. Use the surrounding
customGoalBytes/customHealthBytes embedding steps in the loading screen widget
to locate and sanitize these messages.
- Around line 74-86: The onboarding flow in loading_screen.dart saves the user
profile before the resolved tags are applied, so the first persisted record
misses the top-k matches. In the loading screen flow around
saveAndCompleteOnboarding(), update the onboarding state via
onboardingViewModelProvider.notifier.updateResolvedTags(goals: goalMatches,
healthIssues: healthMatches) before calling saveAndCompleteOnboarding(), or
persist again immediately after that state mutation so state.toUserdata()
includes the resolved tags.

In `@lib/features/ai_inference/repositories/tag_setup_repository.dart`:
- Around line 63-80: The lookup in the tag seeding flow uses the wrong identity:
`TagSetupRepository` is checking `TagsTable.tagName` together with
`TagsTable.tagType`, but the schema only guarantees `tag_name` is unique. Update
the query in the repository method that builds `existing` to match the table’s
actual unique key, or adjust `tags_schema.dart` to use a composite uniqueness
rule if that is the intended model. Keep the insert path in `TagSetupRepository`
and `Tag.toMap()` unchanged except for making the existence check consistent
with the schema.

In `@lib/features/ai_inference/services/tokenizer_service.dart`:
- Around line 12-31: TokenizerService.init currently catches setup errors and
only logs them, which leaves the tokenizer in a false-initialized state. Update
the init method in TokenizerService to rethrow the caught exception (or return a
failed Future) after logging so AiModelRepository.initModel and
AiInferenceViewModel.initializeAiAndTags can detect the failure. Keep the
existing initialization flow around rootBundle.loadString,
VocabLoader.fromString, and WordPieceTokenizer, but do not swallow errors from
vocab loading or tokenizer creation.

In `@lib/features/ai_inference/view_model/ai_inference_view_model.dart`:
- Around line 82-94: The fallback in ai_inference_view_model.dart is currently
unreachable because bestMatch is replaced by the first entry even when
calculateCosineSimilarity() returns a non-positive or invalid score. Update the
selection logic in the matching loop to only assign bestMatch when the score
meets a minimum acceptance threshold, and keep the "No Match Found" default when
no candidate qualifies. Use the existing symbols
SimilarityUtils.calculateCosineSimilarity, bestMatch, and highestScore to locate
the fix.

In `@lib/features/home/services/recommendation_service.dart`:
- Around line 23-36: In recommendation_service.dart, the recommendExercises
method currently sorts all scored items and returns the first 3 even when their
score is 0. Update the logic after scoring in recommendExercises to exclude any
_ScoredExercise with score 0 before sorting or taking results, so only real
matches can be recommended. Use the existing recommendExercises and
_ScoredExercise flow to locate the change.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/repository/user_repository.dart`:
- Around line 12-15: The saveUser() method in UserRepository currently appends a
new row to user_data on every call, but the onboarding flow expects a single
stable profile record. Update this method to upsert or replace the existing
singleton row using a fixed primary key or conflict strategy, so subsequent
calls always target the same record and stay consistent with getUserData() and
TagSetupRepository updates.
- Around line 44-60: The debugPrintUserData helper in UserRepository is logging
sensitive profile and health information directly to device logs. Remove the raw
logging of age, height, weight, tags, and especially health/embedding fields,
and only keep any diagnostics behind a debug-only guard if still needed. If this
helper remains, limit it to non-sensitive identifiers and ensure the method does
not emit user data in production.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view_model/onboarding_view_model.dart`:
- Around line 122-126: The onboarding tag resolution in onBoardingViewModel is
keeping stale values because `state.copyWith` falls back to `state.goalTags` and
`state.healthIssueTags` when `goals` or `healthIssues` are empty. Update this
logic to set the tags directly from the provided lists in the method that
handles matched results, so an empty match result clears both the in-memory
state and the persisted values. Use the existing `goalTags` and
`healthIssueTags` fields in `OnboardingViewModel` and remove the previous-state
fallback.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view/health_issues.dart`:
- Around line 51-60: The onboarding progress indicator is still hardcoded to
mark only the first dot as active, so this screen never shows step 2 as
selected. Update the active-dot condition inside the `List.generate` block in
the health issues onboarding view so it highlights the second indicator instead
of `index == 0`, and keep the styling consistent for the inactive dots. If this
screen is meant to reflect a current step value, wire the condition to that step
index rather than a fixed first-step check.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view/intensity_level.dart`:
- Around line 41-50: The progress dot in IntensityScreen is still hardcoded to
the same active index as DifficultyScreen, so update the highlighting logic in
intensity_level.dart to advance this step. Use the existing progress-dot builder
around the List.generate call and either pass in a step-specific active index to
the shared widget or change the local index check from the fixed value to the
next step so the highlighted dot reflects the current screen.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view/resultscreen.dart`:
- Around line 137-155: The recommendation trigger in resultscreen.dart is
rereading UserData from SQLite after onboarding, which can miss the freshly
resolved goal/injury tags already available in onboardingViewModelProvider.
Update the handler that loads exercises so it uses the current onboarding state
from onboardingViewModelProvider (or its resolved tags) instead of recomputing
from persisted UserData, and keep the userRepositoryProvider fallback only for
cases where onboarding state is unavailable. Verify the logic around the user,
onboardingViewModelProvider, and recommendationServiceProvider flow so the first
recommendation run uses the latest tags.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view/splash_screen.dart`:
- Around line 23-38: Harden the async startup flow in _checkUser so failures
from getUserData() or SeedService.seedExercises() don’t leave the splash screen
stuck. Wrap the awaited startup work in error handling, and make sure any
Riverpod access such as
ref.read(onboardingViewModelProvider.notifier).loadFromUserData(user) only
happens after confirming mounted. If the widget is disposed or an error occurs,
avoid navigation and fall back to a safe path instead of leaving the user on the
spinner.

In `@lib/features/onboarding/view/user_details.dart`:
- Around line 83-151: The numeric inputs in user_details.dart only update
onboardingNotifier on valid parse, so stale weight/height/age values remain when
the user clears or enters invalid text. Update the TextField onChanged handlers
in this screen to explicitly clear the corresponding onboarding state for
empty/invalid out-of-range input, or make the ElevatedButton navigation in the
continue flow depend on the current field validity before calling
context.go(AppRoutes.loading).

In `@test/widget_test.dart`:
- Line 11: The current widget test still asserts the old counter app UI, but
`MyApp` in `main.dart` now boots a router-based app starting on the splash flow.
Update `widget_test.dart` to match the new startup behavior by pumping the real
`MyApp`/router setup and replacing the `'0'`, `'1'`, and `Icons.add` checks with
assertions for the routed splash/initial screen shown by the app bootstrap.

In `@windows/flutter/ephemeral/.plugin_symlinks/jni`:
- Line 1: Delete the generated symlink artifact under
windows/flutter/ephemeral/.plugin_symlinks so it is no longer tracked, since it
hardcodes a machine-specific Pub cache path and should not be committed. Update
the repo’s ignore rules to exclude ephemeral/plugin symlink outputs, and verify
no similar generated symlinks remain under windows/flutter/ephemeral.

lib/generated/ does not cover outputs like lib/features/onboarding/model/generated/onboarding_data.freezed.dart or the matching .g.dart files from build.yaml, so those generated artifacts will still be tracked/dirty in normal workflows.

Make the list-backed user columns non-null in the schema.

UserData.fromMap() in lib/core/model/user_data.dart casts goalTags, healthIssueTags, targetBodyRegion, and equipments to String before splitting, so a partially populated row will crash during hydration. Tighten these columns to NOT NULL with sane defaults here instead of relying on downstream guards.

In `@lib/core/database/schema/user_schema.dart` around lines 13 - 20, The user
list-backed columns in the schema are currently nullable, which allows partially
populated rows to crash during `UserData.fromMap()` hydration when `goalTags`,

Update the `UserTable` column definitions in `user_schema.dart` to make these

parsing logic in `UserData.fromMap()` so those properties are always present.

Don't seed every exercise with the same duration.

fromJson() ignores the source payload and persists estimatedTime as 30 for every row. That drops any per-exercise timing metadata before it ever reaches SQLite.

In `@lib/core/model/exercise_data.dart` at line 117, `fromJson()` in the exercise
data model is hardcoding `estimatedTime` to 30, so every saved exercise loses
its original timing metadata. Update the `ExerciseData.fromJson` parsing to read

the field is missing), and keep the persisted value aligned with the source JSON

Fail fast on unknown asset enums instead of coercing them.

_parseBodyRegions() maps every unrecognized token to BodyRegion.mobilityAndFlexibility, and _parseEquipments() maps every unrecognized token to Equipment.stabilityBall while also omitting an explicit pull_up_bar case. That silently seeds wrong metadata and will skew downstream recommendation/filtering.

Don't round-trip empty selections as [''].

Empty lists are stored as '', but split(',') reloads that as ['']. Users who skipped a section will come back with a phantom empty tag/body-region/equipment entry, which corrupts persisted onboarding data and can affect downstream matching.

Do not recompute recommendations from stale persisted onboarding data.

LoadingScreen saves onboarding before it updates the resolved goal/injury tags, then routes here. This handler rereads UserData from SQLite, so the first recommendation run can miss the just-extracted top-k tags that already exist in onboardingViewModelProvider.

Replace the stale counter smoke test when switching to move_your_body/main.dart.

Line 11 now imports the new app entrypoint, but MyApp no longer renders the template counter screen—it boots MaterialApp.router and starts at the splash route. 🟡 Minor · Add error handling to saveAndCompleteOnboarding. · onboarding_view_model.dart:106-116

lib/features/onboarding/view_model/onboarding_view_model.dart:106-116
🗄️ Data Integrity & Integration | 🟡 Minor | ⚡ Quick win

Add error handling to saveAndCompleteOnboarding.

The method awaits saveUser without a try/catch. A database failure propagates to the caller. Also, saveUser calls db.insert with no conflict algorithm. Each call inserts a new row. getUserData reads only the first row, so a repeated save returns stale data. Handle errors in the caller or here. Use a replace strategy or clear the table before the insert.

Update saveAndCompleteOnboarding to handle failures from saveUser, and update
saveUser’s insert behavior to replace the existing user row so repeated saves
return the latest data through getUserData.

🔵 Trivial · Add error handling and a mounted check to the debug button. · resultscreen.dart:148-153

lib/features/onboarding/view/resultscreen.dart:148-153
📐 Maintainability & Code Quality | 🔵 Trivial | 💤 Low value

Add error handling and a mounted check to the debug button.

debugPrintAllCachedTags and debugPrintUserData are awaited without a try/catch. The handler also constructs UserRepository() directly instead of using userRepositoryProvider. Remove this debug action before release, or wrap it in try/catch.

Remove checked-in ephemeral files with developer-specific paths. These files contain Windows cache or project paths. Another checkout cannot use those paths as its own plugin links or macOS build configuration. Remove the files from version control, ignore the ephemeral outputs, and let Flutter regenerate them.
