Skip compiling a certain module

When using IntelliJ IDEA, I set in compiler.xml:

to achieve skipping the compilation of these two modules. How can I achieve the same effect in VS Code?

I don't think there's support for this. It would probably need to be added to https://github.com/eclipse-m2e/m2e-core . There is support for skipping executions with <?m2e ignore?> by adding it within the <execution>.
