I originally posted it selfhosters/unRAID-CA-templates#604 but for reasons unrelated to me it got closed.

We don't just create templates for other developers containers and also won't create containers on the fact it looks "interesting" without any research.

Unraid provide plenty of documentation on how to create templates / add containers that aren't on the store so there is nothing stopping you doing that.

Hi @j0nnymoe thank you for the quick response!

What would you recommend of the following?

1. Reach out to the developer of the app to make a template for UNRAID?
2. Make my own repo with templates?
3. Install from docker hub?
4. Ask another team?
5. Something else?

For my future reference because I want to do things correctly what should i have done differently in regards to contacting linuxserver?

any of the options (except 4) you've listed are decent. Installing via a docker compose yaml file or using docker run is the simplest and easiest for people to support, but asking the developer to make a template is a possibility if they wish to take on responsibility for updating it.

as to why i say 4 isn't good, if another team wanted to make a template for an app they already would've done it. it's also a pain to manage a template for an app you don't control, if the upstream changes vars or anything and you're not paying attention, now the template is wrong and you have a bunch of users complaining, likely in the upstream project's github, which just upsets everyone.

I see that someone already asked the dev and it got rejected BassHous3/taggarr#8

They don't need to do any sort of support, you can easily use unraid docs to create your own template for it or you can deploy the docker compose snippet they provide directly on unraid.
