Describe the bug

I use the SSD in the Dual M.2 Adapter as a scratch drive. It’s where I store all my music and downloads. I dual boot and mainly use auto set Windows 11 as boot OS and delve into Fedora once in a while. However, every time I then go back to Windows 11 from Fedora, it forgets the SSD in the adapter.
The only temporary fix I know at the moment is to install the most current FW16 BIOS update in Windows 11 and restart the laptop. When I reboot the laptop after updating the BIOS, the drive can be seen again. Is there some sort of setting I need to change in the BIOS to make it so I don’t have to do that every time? Do I also have to update the BIOS from the Fedora side as well?

UPDATE: A new issue just came up and I’m most confident that it’s stemming from the recent BIOS update 4.04. If my laptop has been off or sleeping for a long time such as me turning it off before heading to bed, it forgets the expansion bay SSD. As usual a restart is required to make it work again.

Steps To Reproduce

  1. I boot to Windows and I see the SSD in the Dual M.2 Adapter in windows Explorer.
  2. Turn off FW16
  3. Turn it on while tapping F12 key.
  4. In the BIOS see two boot drives (Windows 11 and Fedora) and I pick Fedora.
  5. I see a second screen that's black and white and I choose Fedora again. (This is normal to see for me)
  6. Fedora boots, loads, and I can use it as usual.
  7. I turn off or restart the laptop and it auto boots Windows 11.
  8. I log in and open Windows Explorer and it's not there.

Expected behavior

I load boot Windows 11 after rebooting from Fedora and the drive is able to be seen in Windows Explorer.
